About Heads Up Board

Heads Up Board is a shared planning board for the whole household. It exists for the 9 pm Sunday panic — the moment a child announces they need a cardboard volcano, a packed lunch or a signed slip by tomorrow morning. The app turns that panic into weeks of calm preparation.

The problem it solves

Kids remember the night before. Co-parents, caregivers and grandparents all assume someone else has it. Things slip between homes, between the nanny and the parents, between the teacher and the family. By the time it surfaces, the shop is shut and the time is gone.

Heads Up Board puts every upcoming project, excursion, lesson, activity and chore on one shared board that everyone sees — both parents, a co-parent in another home, the nanny, and the kids. Each item carries its own heads-up window, so the board starts nudging you while there's still time to buy the cardboard, pack the lunch, and sign the slip.

What the app does

• One shared board. Add what's coming up once. Every member of the household sees it the moment it lands — no more one-parent-knows-and-the-other-doesn't.
• Early warnings built in. Each item has a lead time. When it enters its heads-up window, the app starts nudging — then again the day before, and on the day.
• Escalation when nobody's confirmed. Every card has an “I've seen this” button. If no one has tapped it as the deadline nears, the reminder goes out to every parent, co-parent and caregiver marked “Nobody's confirmed” — so it doesn't fall through the gap between homes.
• Prep checklists by subject. A solar-system model becomes six small jobs over two weeks instead of one panic. Ready-made checklists cover science, maths, English, history, art, excursions, sport and music.
• Reminders that reach you. Pop-up notifications on each phone, tablet and computer, plus a daily email summary at an hour you choose. The board is checked every hour in your household's own time zone, and a test button confirms your setup is working.
• Messages between family and teacher. Private threads inside the app — optionally about one child and one subject — instead of chasing paper slips.
• Comfortable anywhere. Light and dark mode, a live local clock and mini calendar, and it installs to a phone or tablet home screen like an app.

Roles in a household

• Parent / co-parent: add, edit and remove members and items, rename the household, and manage everything.
• Caregiver (nanny, grandparent): see the board and tick things off, but can't change the household setup.
• Child: see the board and tick prep steps off — perfect for building the habit of planning ahead. Children join through a household invite from a parent or guardian.

The teaching side

A teacher doesn't need a school to be “connected” to use Heads Up Board. Each teacher can open an account, create a class (with grade, subject and optional school name), and post updates — homework, projects, excursions, due dates. Parents follow that class with a join code and pull the tasks straight onto their family board, so nothing waits on a paper slip that never made it home.

Being a teacher and a parent on the same account is fine — the two sides stay separate. A household with four children in four different classes simply adds four class codes, each tagged to the right child, so every card shows whose class it came from.

Who it's for

Any household with children, and any teacher who wants to get ahead of the night-before surprises. It works just as well for a single parent as for a blended family with a co-parent in another home and a nanny who needs to know what's coming.
